While the East Coast prep, Ivy League aesthetic has always been a distinctly American look, for one reason or another, it’s one that that seems to get revisited time and time again by European brands. Fall 2023 was a men’s season dominated by relaxed tailoring, so it’s no wonder blazers were a frequent sight – but we also prep-school style staples like cardigans, varsity jackets, and rugby jackets appear alongside them in droves.
EgonLab married prep and Victorian street urchin for a lesson in modern grunge. At Kenzo, Nigo continued to lean into the collegiate look, mixing it into his blend of 60s British soul, American workwear, and traditional Japanese construction. Lemaire’s co-ed collection was a course in everyday elegance. With a collection that was a total mashup of all the aesthetic avenues they’ve explored thus far, it’s no surprise Dsquared2 had a bit of sexed-up prep peek through.
