Review of Khaite X Oliver Peoples Fall 2023 Ad Campaign by Khaite’s Catherine Holstein and Art Director Michael Scanlon with Photographer Hanna Tveite Capdevielle and model Steinberg
The vision of Khaite extends to eyewear through the New York brand’s new collaboration with Oliver Peoples. The collaborative collection of sunglasses is celebrated with a new campaign that arrives in tandem with their launch.
Debuted on the Fall 2023 runway on February 12th in New York, the collection presents three vintage-inspired frames that sees Khaite put Oliver Peoples’ technical know-how to work in serving its vision of executing timeless modern designs.
Each season, Khaite presents a woman, and Oliver Peoples sunglasses have helped us to bring that woman to life on the runway for several years now. This collection brings a new dimension to that relationship. We’ve infused our point of view within this collection—nuances of form, fit, and color that make each pair uniquely Khaite—all made possible by the exceptional materials and fabrication of Oliver Peoples. It’s a true collaboration.
– Catherine Holstein, founder and creative director of Khaite
Top model Steinberg wears the styles for the campaign, bringing their signature persona of unfazed cool to the imagery. The mood is augmented by Khaite’s Spring 2023 collection, which drew inspiration from David Lynch’s Lost Highway for an engine-revving, retro Hollywood gritty glamor.
Making smart use of casting and styling to emphasize the dramatic character of the designs, the campaign is a simple and effective way to launch the new collaboration stylishly.
