Climate change? In a rather unseasonal occurrence, shades of white and cream have been trending during the Fall 2023 runway and street style season. From pristine suiting to flowing silks and sexy sheers, the color (or lack thereof) has graced a broad spectrum of design perspectives, allowing for an emphasis on structure and texture while suggesting a clean canvas.
Though white is a perennial trend that always has and always will pop up, it tends to be much more of a sight during spring seasons, and so its appearance on the runways of Fall 2023 is a bit more intriguing than usual. This monochrome phenomenon may be to the themes of reduction and a return to form that characterized the season as designers pared things back and dug into what is essential about their brand DNA and presented sensible wardrobe staples much more than trendy statement pieces.
