Burberry Extended Its Support for the Art Fair’s British Pavilion Across Talks and Celebrations
During the opening week of the 60th La Biennale di Venezia international art exhibition, Burberry marked its presence by celebrating British creativity in partnership with the British Pavilion. As the headline sponsor for the second consecutive year, the luxury British brand showcased its ongoing commitment to contemporary British art and culture.
Commissioned by the British Council, the British Pavilion unveiled a new exhibition titled “Listening All Night to the Rain” by acclaimed artist and filmmaker John Akomfrah. Burberry’s support for this initiative was underscored by two events hosted during the opening week, emphasizing the brand’s dedication to nurturing artistic talent.
One of these events, titled “Burberry, John Akomfrah, and Talk Art,” featured an intimate conversation between John Akomfrah and Tarini Malik, alongside Talk Art founders Russell Tovey and Robert Diament. Akomfrah delved into his artistic journey, discussing his past work and the inspiration behind his latest commission. The insightful dialogue, set against the backdrop of the Biennale, will soon be available for a wider audience through an upcoming episode of the Talk Art podcast.
Additionally, Burberry welcomed friends and family to an enchanting evening at the iconic Harry’s Bar, where creative director Daniel Lee and John Akomfrah gathered to honor Burberry’s presence in Venice. Against the backdrop of the legendary venue, guests indulged in the bar’s signature Bellinis and enjoyed music curated by Benji B.
