LaQuan Smith slays New York with his new Fall 2024 campaign shot by photographer Greg Swales.
The campaign was captured at New York’s famed Park Lane Hotel – a fitting backdrop for a collection that subverts the lux codes of midtown style. Iconic stylist Carine Roitfeld makes the most of model Liz Kennedy’s long and lean form through a drapey rework of the banker suit, a voluminous faux fur coat that opens onto a slim bralette, sinuous bodycon dresses, and an outrageous tuxedo-inspired bodysuit complete with thigh-high boots.
The setting provides the perfect combination of swankiness and seduction. Whether its a hallway with a crystal chandelier, a shadowy coatroom, a mirrored elevator, or even the rooftop with a sweeping view of the city, the images playfully distort the line between camp and class.
As LaQuan Smith grows as a designer and brand, it’s exciting to see him explore more sophisticated design ideas without losing sight of the audacious sensuality and party-dress spirit with which he began. This campaign combines those perspectives, putting a subversive and slay-worthy stamp across the New York skyline.
