The House Tapped Anderson .Paak to Curate Its Latest International Celebration of Music and Culture
Prada continued its The Sound of Prada music event series with a new activation in Seoul, featuring special music performances and DJ sets. Originally launched in Paris in 2019, the series aims to celebrate music’s role in cultural expression worldwide, with previous editions held in London and Cannes. This latest event took place at Candy Seongsu, a prominent creative hub in Seoul, underscoring the city’s status as a major player in the global music scene, particularly through its influence in K-Pop.
For this 2024 edition, Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak, also known as DJ Pee.Wee, took the helm as creative director, curating a lineup that honored Korea’s modern musical identity while bridging global and local sounds. His vision brought together a diverse range of artists, including Seoul-based DJ Spray and Tokyo’s DJ MAYURASHKA, along with .Paak himself, his band, and special guest Crush.
“The Sound of Prada” has evolved over its international iterations, always adapting to its host city’s unique culture. Seoul’s version celebrated this adaptive approach, creating a soundscape that resonated with both global music trends and the city’s vibrant local scene. Prada described the event as one that “echoed the sound of Korea today,” capturing both the global influence and unique spirit of Korean music.
The evening drew a star-studded crowd, with attendees including ENHYPEN, Jaehyun, Kentaro Sakaguchi, Kim Taeri, Kwon Eunbi, NATTY and JULIE from KISS OF LIFE, TAEMIN, Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, Hong Taejun, WONPIL from DAY6, SEOK MATTHEW, RICKY, and KIM GYU VIN from ZEROBASEONE.
