Paris’ Saint-Germain Through the Eyes of Snyder
Review of Todd Snyder Men’s Fall 2025 Fashion Show

THE COLLECTION
THE VIBE
Cinematic classics. Dandyish decadence.
New York doesn’t have its own men’s week, but Todd Snyder only needs one afternoon. The designer’s major return to the runway continues with his Fall 2025 outing, a 65-look collection that beautifully nails that ideal menswear balance of paying homage to the classics while forging your own path ahead.
The world of the collection inhabits a key place in space and time: the Saint-Germain neighborhood of Paris in the 80s, a hotbed for jazz, existentialism, and the bohemian counterculture of the cafés, and a historic home to numerous universities and publishing houses.
Snyder reinvents the structured yet louche tailoring and quiet extravagance of this moment with a gorgeously rich material palette and jewel tones, reviving these characters with a cinematic eye. University students with knit ties tucked under brushed mohair sweaters smoke cigarettes along the Seine. A jazz musician in a thrifted wool greatcoat hustles to his next café gig. Businessmen find subtly rebellious ways to express their own personal styles, even while keeping it clean in a corduroy three-piece suit. Small styling details go a long way, with sometimes subtle but unmissable silver jewelry lending a touch of dandyish decadence.

THE QUOTE
I wanted to take these Parisian archetypes and reimagine their traditional silhouettes in opulent fabrics, rich jewel tones and sexier proportions. The sort of decadence that Oscar Wilde, who spent his final days in Saint-Germain, might have appreciated. In the end, this collection explores how each of us creates our own unique personal styles by subtly rebelling against the dress codes life assigns us.
THE WRAP UP
Todd Snyder deftly understands menswear as carving out your own space among the classics, and that classics are classics because they have a story. Delivering a collection of super wearable yet distinctive looks, the designer writes another great story.
