Monse and Sperry Launch First Footwear Collaboration

The New York label reinterprets the classic boat shoe with a deconstructed, runway-driven approach

Monse and Sperry have unveiled their first collaboration, introducing a limited-edition Spring/Summer 2026 footwear collection that reworks the American brand’s signature boat shoe through a more experimental lens.

The partnership brings together Monse’s design language—shaped by co-creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia—with Sperry’s heritage in nautical footwear. First shown during New York Fashion Week in September 2025, the collection includes eight styles that reinterpret classic silhouettes through deconstruction, material contrast, and shifts in proportion.

“Collaborating with Sperry has been an exciting opportunity to take something classic and reimagine it through the Monse lens,” added Kim and Garcia. “For our first foray into footwear, we wanted to create designs that feel modern and truly wearable, while honoring Sperry’s heritage and craftsmanship.”

Among the key designs is the Authentic Original 2-Eye Jelly Boat Shoe, offered in Mandarin Orange and Seaglass, which reimagines Sperry’s best-known model with a translucent finish and woven laces. Another core style, the Authentic Original 2-Eye Lug Boat Shoe, introduces a more structured silhouette with a squared toe, pronounced stitching, and a platform sole, available in colorways including Amaretto, Denim, Sahara, and Washed Khaki.

The collection reflects Monse’s broader approach to ready-to-wear, which often draws on menswear tailoring and reworks it through asymmetry, deconstruction, and unexpected detailing. Here, those elements are translated into footwear, resulting in designs that balance functionality with a more directional aesthetic.

“After two consecutive seasons on the Monse runway, we’re proud to return to the NYFW stage with an official collaboration,” said Jonathan Frankel, President of Sperry. “The Sperry x Monse collection shows how boundless the boat shoe can be and reflects the innovative spirit that the brand has carried for 90 years.”

Founded in 2015, Monse has built a following for its hybrid approach to tailoring and occasionwear, with designs that frequently appear on red carpets and in editorial contexts. The collaboration marks an extension of the brand’s design vocabulary into footwear, while offering Sperry a more fashion-driven interpretation of its core product.

The Monse and Sperry collection launches March 19, 2026, and will be available through select retail channels including Nordstrom, Shopbop, and the brands’ own platforms.
