Fear of God Honors Jackie Robinson With New MLB Capsule

Designs reference Robinson’s legacy across the Dodgers and Monarchs

Fear of God continues its ongoing collaboration with Major League Baseball with a new release timed to Jackie Robinson Day, centering its Spring 2026 offering around legacy, identity, and cultural memory.

This latest installment pays tribute to Robinson as a defining figure in both sport and American history, aligning his impact with Fear of God’s broader values. Developed in collaboration with the Jackie Robinson Estate, MLB, and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, the capsule distills this focus into three key pieces: a Brooklyn Dodgers-inspired hoodie and tee, and a Kansas City Monarchs hoodie.

Each design incorporates references to Robinson’s career, with the Dodgers pieces featuring his iconic number 42, while the Monarchs hoodie highlights his earlier team number, 5, alongside a Negro League patch. The garments function less as merchandise and more as symbolic objects, bridging past and present through subtle historical cues.

Beyond the tribute capsule, the wider MLB Essentials Spring 2026 collection continues Fear of God’s exploration of sport as a cultural language. Drawing on vintage baseball aesthetics, the lineup introduces updated fabrications and refined details, including a new mid-weight cotton tee and signature fleece pieces accented with pinstripes and satin-stitched elements.

The accompanying campaign, directed by Calmatic, shifts the narrative toward everyday experience. Following a young player through a single morning, the film captures moments of quiet routine—family interactions, neighborhood rituals—before transitioning into the heightened energy of the ballpark. The result is a study in contrast, where the ordinary and the iconic exist side by side.

Launching April 15, the Jackie Robinson capsule anchors the season’s release, with the broader MLB Essentials collection set to follow, reinforcing Fear of God’s continued positioning at the intersection of sport, heritage, and contemporary fashion.
