Dolce & Gabbana Names Maria Cristina Lomanto General Manager Europe

Stefano Cantino Reunites With the Former Gucci and Prada Executive as the Brand Continues Its Leadership Restructuring

Dolce & Gabbana has appointed Maria Cristina Lomanto as General Manager Europe, adding another senior luxury executive to the company’s evolving leadership structure under newly named Co-Chief Executive Officer Stefano Cantino.

Cantino announced the appointment during an informal press gathering Monday at the brand’s Martini bar and restaurant in Milan.

Lomanto most recently served as President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Gucci, a role she assumed in 2022 after departing Roger Vivier. Her appointment reunites her with Cantino, with whom she previously worked during their years at Prada Group.

A veteran luxury executive, Lomanto began her career at Jil Sander before joining Yves Saint Laurent in wholesale operations. She later built an extensive career at Prada, where she held a series of senior leadership roles across merchandising, marketing and retail, ultimately becoming General Manager of Miu Miu.

Cantino himself spent more than two decades at Prada in business development, merchandising and marketing positions before joining Louis Vuitton as Senior Vice President of Communications under then-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael Burke. He was appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer of Dolce & Gabbana last month following his departure from Gucci in 2025.

At Dolce & Gabbana, Cantino works alongside Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alfonso Dolce.

Lomanto joins the company during a broader period of organizational transition. Earlier this year, Co-Founder Stefano Gabbana stepped down from his corporate positions within the group, while continuing his creative responsibilities at the house.

The appointment also reflects the increasingly interconnected leadership ecosystem across Italian luxury, with executives frequently moving between Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and independent Italian fashion houses as brands seek experienced management talent to navigate shifting global market conditions.
