Simkhai Casts Naomi Watts and Daughter Kai Schreiber

The mother-daughter pair stars together for the first time in the brand’s Fall 2026 campaign alongside a cast of established and emerging creative figures

Simkhai has cast Naomi Watts and her daughter, Kai Schreiber, in their first fashion campaign together. Photographed by Mikael Jansson and styled by Camilla Nickerson, the pair fronts the brand’s Fall 2026 campaign alongside models Sage Elsesser, Malcolm McRae, Awar Odhiang, and Betsy Gaghan.

The campaign coincides with the launch of Jonathan Simkhai’s Fall 2026 collection, which is available beginning Wednesday. For the season, the Los Angeles-based designer explored texture and tailoring through a restrained palette of black, ivory, burgundy, chocolate brown, ochre, mushroom, and charcoal.

Leather, suede, calf hair, cashmere, satin, silk, and organza appear throughout the collection, which combines references to 1920s boudoir dressing with elements of 1960s modernism. Fluid silhouettes are balanced by structured tailoring and elongated outerwear, while eveningwear incorporates satin, lace, draped jersey, slip silhouettes, bugle beads, fringe jacquards, and glass embellishments.

Accessories include structured metal clutches, zebra-print bags and sneakers, calfskin boots, and pieces featuring dragonfly hardware. The campaign’s cast was selected to reflect the collection’s exploration of community and identity, connecting the clothes with individuals whose distinct public and personal identities extend across fashion, culture, and entertainment.

For Schreiber, 17, the campaign marks another development in a rapidly expanding modeling career. The daughter of Watts and actor Liev Schreiber made her runway debut in Alessandro Michele’s Fall 2025 Valentino show and has since walked for brands including Jason Wu, Altuzarra, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Fendi, Cos, Celine, Valentino, Mugler, Khaite, and Jean Paul Gaultier, while also appearing in campaigns for H&M and Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs.

By bringing Watts and Schreiber together for their first campaign appearance as mother and daughter, Simkhai adds a personal dimension to a season centered on individual identity. The casting places a multigenerational relationship alongside the brand’s continued exploration of how personal character and community can inform its broader visual language.
