Amiri

Fall 2020 Ad Campaign

Amiri steps out in style for a campaign that blurs the lines between the runway and the street.

The campaign features both of Mike Amiri’s men’s and women’s Fall 2020 collections. Photographed by Ronan Gallagher outside the location of the runway show, the Théâtre National de Chaillot at Place du Trocadéro, and in the days following, the campaign feels like an organic extension of the event.

Channeling the energy and spontaneity of the city, models are captured as they stroll down the streets and interact with their surroundings, often appearing alongside Parisian locals, who themselves become characters in this narrative. The distinction between theater and real life falls away; the life we see here is a natural extension of the runway performance, and vice versa. Gallagher heightens this artistic sensibility with a cohesive and sun-soaked color scheme of warm neutrals and sky blue.

Simply conceived but smart and playful in the way it blends the principles of runway, street, and studio photography, the campaign is a lovely little slice of Parisian life. It is grounded in the simple and universal story of walking down the street, yet this story is in turn artistically elevated. The results feel both uniquely stylish and relatably recognizable – and we are inspired to step out into our own story.
