The Two-Story Boutique in Polanco Combines the House’s Los Angeles Aesthetic
With Mexican Materials and Craftsmanship

Amiri has opened its first flagship in Latin America, establishing a presence in Mexico City as the Los Angeles-based fashion house continues to expand its international retail network. Located on Avenida Presidente Masaryk in the upscale Polanco district, the new boutique introduces the brand’s distinctive California aesthetic to one of the region’s most prominent luxury shopping destinations.
Designed under the direction of Founder and Creative Director Mike Amiri, the two-story, 2,863-square-foot space reflects the house’s established retail identity while incorporating materials and furnishings sourced from Mexico. The result brings together the cinematic influences of Los Angeles with the architectural character and artisanal traditions of its new location.
The boutique’s exterior is clad in Santo Tomás marble, quarried in Mexico, which continues inside through accents on display cases and columns. Cream-toned travertine flooring establishes a warm foundation, while textured wallpaper and sheer drapery soften the interiors. The curtains reference the movie houses of mid-century Hollywood, an influence that connects the boutique to the cinematic culture that has long informed Amiri’s creative direction.
Local craftsmanship plays an important role throughout the space. All furnishings were produced in Mexico by local artisans, including sculptural timber seating, leather lounge chairs and custom tables. Richly textured carpeting and neutral finishes create a residential atmosphere, offering a more intimate alternative to conventional luxury retail interiors.
The boutique also incorporates a selection of artworks by Stefano Di Cristofaro, Emiliano Massimini and Alex Slonimsky. Their inclusion extends the house’s interest in art and design beyond its collections, giving the space a character shaped by its surroundings rather than simply reproducing an existing store concept.
The Mexico City opening represents another step in Amiri’s evolution from an independent Los Angeles label into an international luxury fashion house. Founded by Mike Amiri, the brand has developed a recognizable identity through its combination of American cultural references, refined craftsmanship and a contemporary approach to luxury dressing.
The decision to establish a flagship in Polanco places Amiri among the international fashion houses operating along Avenida Presidente Masaryk, a destination known for its concentration of luxury boutiques. It also gives the brand a permanent retail presence in Latin America, creating a new point of contact with customers in a market where international luxury labels continue to develop their presence.
For Amiri, the boutique demonstrates how its retail identity can evolve across different cities while maintaining a consistent creative perspective. The familiar references to Los Angeles remain, but the use of Mexican stone, locally crafted furniture and carefully selected artwork gives the Mexico City location its own architectural identity.
The new flagship is located at Calderón de la Barca 97, at the corner of Avenida Presidente Masaryk, in Polanco III Sección, Mexico City.
