Bianca Saunders, the British designer, found inspiration for her latest collection in her Jamaican roots and vintage images of staff at a high-end Jamaican resort from the 1940s.
The collection showcased bold colors, textures, and laid-back vibes reminiscent of the Caribbean island. Fishnet fabric was transformed into bags, hats, and clothing pieces, while deep green strokes added a natural touch to garments.
The collection featured tailored pieces inspired by hotel staff uniforms, including boxy cropped jackets and fitted shirts with statement collars. Denim was a standout, with varied designs such as shackets, wide-leg trousers, and indigo jeans tucked into riding-style boots.
For Saunders, the collection also marked the launch of her first full footwear collection, in collaboration with the Portuguese Association of Footwear and Leather Goods. The designer plans to utilize the recent BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund prize to expand her brand, particularly focusing on North America.
