Kaia Gerber is effortlessly stunning in a new Calvin Klein #mycalvins campaign lensed by photographer Ryan McGinley.
With its stripped-back simplicity and Gerber’s undeniable resemblance to her iconic mother Cindy Crawford, the imagery recalls the Calvin Klein campaigns of the ’90s that helped to launch Crawford’s legendary muse status. But the family connections don’t stop there, as Crawford was a runway regular for the brand, and Gerber made her runway debut for none other than Calvin Klein.
Yet Gerber is not relying on this connection alone, and it’s clear that her star is only continuing to rise: she was also just confirmed to be playing a role in the tenth season of cultural phenomenon American Horror Story. “Very happy to declare that Kaia Gerber will be joining the AHS family,” show writer Ryan Murphy wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the model. “If I’m dreaming this, don’t wake me up,” Gerber commented in response to the post.
In addition to the simple beauty of its imagery, the campaign thus plays smartly into the talent and character of its star.
