'Kobarah' Spring Ad Campaign

Review of Camper ‘Kobarah’ Spring Ad Campaign by Photographer Kito Muñoz with models Chatelain Hyacinthe and Helena Contrera

Camper shares a gorgeously minimal and stripped-back campaign by photographer Kito Muñoz.

The campaign highlights Camper’s delightfully strange Kobarah heeled sandal – in fact, there’s
little other articles of clothing to speak of. Capturing his models almost fully nude and wearing
practically just the twisting and tubular shoe, Muñoz’s portraits exude a gorgeous sense of
intimacy, strength, and body positivity. Sometimes the two models pose together, supporting or
intertwining with each other physically, and sometimes alone; in both sets of images they seem
to embody confidence and beauty, at once sculptural and palpably alive.

It’s a simple and almost perfectly minimalist concept, and casting, talent, styling (or lack thereof)
and photography have come together to execute it flawlessly. In addition to being eye-catching
and showing off the strength of a unique design, the campaign embodies and celebrates the
beauty of inclusivity. It’s rare that a shoe campaign can be so immediate and impactful – but the
shoe fits, and Camper wears it with pride.
