Dazed Media Announces New Appointments for Next Chapter

The Magazine and Media Company Has Named Its Incoming Team, Including Internal Promotions and New Appointments

Dazed Media has announced a series of key leadership changes as it gears up for the next phase of growth and innovation. Ted Stansfield has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Dazed, set to take up his new role in June with his first issue expected in September.

Stansfield, who has been with the company for over a decade, started as a fashion writer and has held various roles, most recently serving as the Editorial Director of Dazed Digital and AnOthermag.com, and Editor of Another Man. He will step down from his roles at AnOthermag.com and Another Man to focus on his new position at Dazed.

Alongside Stansfield, several other promotions within the company have been announced. Imruh Asha has been elevated to Fashion & Image Director, with full autonomy over fashion stories since joining Dazed in 2021. Ana Takahashi will take on the role of Beauty Editor-at-Large, and Zara Mirkin will continue as Fashion Editor-at-Large.

Ester Mejibovski has been named Art Director, having started as an intern at Nowness in 2018 and then joined Dazed as a designer after graduating from the London College of Communication. Dominique Sisley, returning to the company after a hiatus, has been appointed as Dazed’s new Editorial Director.

The magazine has also announced Serena Smith as the incoming Deputy Editor and Laura Pitcher as the new US Editor. Pitcher, formerly a Senior Writer for the US, will cover fashion, beauty, and culture.

This leadership overhaul comes ahead of the magazine’s inaugural issue under the new editorship set for September. The print leadership team will include Emma Davidson as Fashion Features Director and Alex Peters as Beauty Features Director, both of whom have been promoted after seven years with Dazed, along with Danil Boparai as Content Strategy Director.

Further supporting the team are Halima Jibril, Culture Editor; Emily Dinsdale, Art & Photography Editor; and Elliot Hoste, Fashion Writer. The fully integrated editorial team responsible for Dazed’s print, digital, and social platforms includes newer names such as Izzy Van Dyke, Solomon Pace-McCarrick, and others contributing across various disciplines.

Jefferson Hack, CEO and Co-Founder of Dazed, reflected on the new chapter for the magazine, stating, “Dazed was founded on a clear purpose to empower the next generation through creativity. This new chapter celebrates our original purpose by promoting the bright young talent at the heart of our business. Handing the editorial reins to Ted and his talented team directly rewards the people who use their every day at Dazed to make space for undiscovered and emerging voices, addressing urgent stories that matter to young people in a turbulent world. Bringing this experienced editorial force – together with Imruh’s pioneering vision for fashion and Ester who is a bright new visionary – marks a shift in the history of Dazed. For the first time ever we will be giving carte blanche to one team at the centre of the brand to express themselves across Dazed’s print, digital and social platforms.”
