Maria Grazia Chiuri and the team at Dior keep things artisanal in their latest Pre-fall 2019 ad campaign once again featuring Jennifer Lawrence.
Staying true Chiuri’s art influences, Creative Director Fabien Baron of Baron & Baron set the campaign in a gallery-like setting but rather than going with oils he wisely parlayed the collections heavy knit looks with yard strung canvases. The marriage works enhancing the casual confidence projected by Lawrence who is often paired with artwork matching color combinations of her outfit. Our favorite being the ombre coat with a shot of burgundy.
The campaign is another note in the tune of Chiuri & Baron’s that subtly reminds us of the artistic alignment of the house and cultured aspirations of its audience. Last season that culture was influenced by dance but art remains a thread that weaves the narrative together. Thankfully all talents involved are polished weavers.
