Gentle Monster, the South Korean eyewear brand, has opened doors in Santa Clara, California.
The 4,300 sq.ft. retail space houses the avant-garde work of Wonho Moon. The shop’s concept is memory and aims to create an advanced world where technology can restore forgotten memories. To illustrate this concept, shoppers experience the narrative of an elderly lady, the life-size kinetic robot, who reunites with her beloved and unexpected friend from her childhood, the donkey. The animated identical life-size donkeys are placed opposite each other on a podium and play with optical illusion.
Gentle Monster has set a high bar for customer experience and futuristic story-telling, and this shop certainly keeps and strengthens the brand DNA.
