With Halloween Imminent, H&M Invites The Vampires In

In true spooky season spirit, H&M announced a collaborations with fashion brand The Vampire’s Wife. Created by British designer, model and muse Susie Cave, The Vampire’s Wife is known for beautiful silhouettes, enchanting details, and championing women and the female form. This progressive collection, both in form and fabrication, boasts garments made from sustainably sourced materials. The collections is now in select stores and online at HM.com.

It was a great honour to be asked to be the designer and the creative director of The Vampire’s Wife’s collaboration with H&M. H&M went to extraordinary lengths to bring the dark and sensual world of The Vampire’s Wife to life. I hope this collection gives as much joy to those who wear it, as it did for me to create it.

The collaboration brings gothic style back to life with bold, feminine fashion. Statement pieces include the lace mystique mini dress with signature shoulders, the velvety mini dress and the romantic silvery lace cape, all made from recycled nylon and recycled polyester. The Vampire’s Wife is known for their focus on silhouettes, and this is seen beautifully in the street-sweeper length lace dress which boast a unique retro ruffled hem. The accessories add to the coming together of fright and feminity, as charm necklaces, bracelets and ear cuffs feature eye, cloud, and—how could they not—vampire teeth iconography. The victorian vampire tradition is seen in fingerless lace gloves and white detachable ruffled collars. While stealing through the night in these predominantly black clothes, passers-by will catch a glimpse of shimmery silver lace, ornate button cuffs, and velvety textures.

With this collaboration, H&M and The Vampire’s Wife want to show our customers that fashion can, and should, empower and inspire women to feel like the best version of themselves. We’ve long been inspired by Susie’s energy and brand values and we’re thrilled to be doing this undoubtedly very special collection together.

With the help of H&M, Susie Cave invites us to understand feminity a complicated and powerful mix of strength and vulnerability, intimacy and the unknown. Brand muse Samantha Snow, model Eva Apio and British poet Greta Bellamacina are the stars of the campaign. While this plague upon us might keep parties at bay, these undead pieces can keep us connected to our darker side.
