Opening new Paris flagship store on February 26th, 2024
Issey Miyake will open its new flagship store at 28 rue François 1er, in the heart of the Triangle d’or, located in the emblematic 8th arrondissement of Paris. Respecting the history and culture of the city, the new store will convey the spirit of joy and wonder of the Issey Miyake brands through fertile creativity.
Previously occupied by the Europe 1 radio studio, the building will house a retail store for the very first time.
Preserving only its original Parisian façade, the building has been entirely rebuilt and restructured across the 2 floors spanning approximately 360 square meters, to create a space that enhances the natural light streaming in through the front and rear windows.
The store space, designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, has a refined and modern aesthetic.
The orange aluminium walls, which shine brightly as the sun, create a futuristic space that evokes a sense of energy by combining a passion for manufacturing and the future.
The historic 19th century French architecture fused orange, which symbolizes the sun. The space, composed of orange aluminum walls made by exquisite anodizing technique, expresses Issey Miyake’s philosophy of craftsmanship and energy for the future.
