Jacob Cohën, the Italian luxury denim brand created by Nicola Bardelle in 2002, called upon American designer Matthew Adams Dolan to create its first ever women’s capsule, set for the SS23 season.
Jacob Cohën By Matthew Adams Dolan is the name of the project, developed at the behest of Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, the brand’s Artistic Director, envisaging the creation of a total look mini- collection, starting with the fabric that identifies not only the brand but also the work and passion of Matthew Adams Dolan: denim. The new project is exclusively dedicated to a select list of national and international retailers.
“Working together with Matthew was a truly thrilling experience,” says Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, Artistic Director of the brand. “In Matthew, I saw the creative flair that has always characterised Nicola’s work. I am sure that our collaboration is the first step towards a real opening of Jacob Cohën towards the world of fashion, whilst remaining faithful to the stylistic codes and DNA of the brand.”
“Denim has always been my fabric of choice,” says Matthew Adams Dolan. “The collaboration with Jacob Cohën has given me the opportunity to discover an Italian company able to speak an international language, focusing on quality, creative identity and luxury details able to make a real difference. Here, I was able to fully express the codes that have always described my style.”
