The BFC Announces the Big Names Returning to London for the 40th Anniversary of London Fashion Week
The British Fashion Council has released the provisional schedule for London Fashion Week February 2024, which marks the event’s 40th anniversary. Taking place from Friday the 16th to Tuesday to the 20th of February, the schedule is a digital-physical hybrid, and will once again spotlight London’s vibrant creative community, bringing together a broad spectrum of designers and artists.
Burberry is set to close out the week with the final runway show slot on the evening of Monday the 19th, continuing renewed excitement around London’s premier luxury brand under Daniel Lee’s revitalized creative direction. Other notable names returning to the schedule include JW Anderson, 16Arlington, Alhuwalia, Dilara Findikoglu, Dunhill, Erdem, Eudon Choi, KNWLS, Molly Goddard, Richard Quinn, Roksanda, Simone Rocha, and more, as well as the vital Fashion East incubator program.
The BFC is also pleased to announce that from 2024 fur is banned from the LFW schedule, marking an important step forward for animal welfare and sustainability. The requirement was implemented as part of the 2024 application process.
This season, the BFC NEWGEN project, which supports emerging fashion design talent through grant funding for showcasing and bespoke business mentoring, returns to the Old Selfridges Hotel, a move made possible through a partnership with Selfridges.
Also returning this season is the LFW City Wide Celebration, a program of events and activations across the city that are open to the public during the week.
The final physical and digital schedule is set to be released in January 2024, and will include further updates and specific information regarding the format and timings of each activation.
The Impression is looking forward as always to a new year of fashion, and we can’t wait to the innovation and imagination that London’s diverse talents have in store for us.
