Loro Piana Returns as Title Sponsor of the Giraglia Regatta 2026

The 73rd edition of the regatta brings together more than 200 yachts for a week of coastal and offshore racing

Loro Piana has renewed its role as title sponsor of the Giraglia Regatta 2026, reaffirming its longstanding connection to the world of sailing and one of the Mediterranean’s most prestigious offshore competitions. Organized by the Yacht Club Italiano in collaboration with the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, the event takes place from June 12 to June 20 and marks the 73rd edition of the historic race.

The partnership continues a relationship rooted in shared values of tradition, performance, sportsmanship, and craftsmanship. For Loro Piana, whose association with sailing spans generations, the regatta represents a natural extension of the house’s heritage and its appreciation for activities that combine technical expertise with elegance and endurance.

The competition begins with four days of coastal racing along the shores of Saint-Tropez from June 13 through June 16. The highlight follows on June 17 with the renowned offshore race, a 241-nautical-mile journey from Saint-Tropez to Genoa via the Giraglia rock off the coast of northern Corsica. As in previous years, Pier Luigi Loro Piana, Deputy Chairman of the house, will participate aboard My Song, the latest vessel in a long-running series of yachts bearing the same name.

Throughout the week, Loro Piana will welcome boat owners, competitors, and guests to its dedicated Giraglia Lounge and Race Village overlooking the port of Saint-Tropez. Designed in the house’s signature palette of beige, green, and brown, the hospitality space features furnishings from Loro Piana Interiors alongside olive trees and soft lighting intended to evoke a relaxed residential atmosphere. The regatta trophies, including the historic Loro Piana Giraglia Cup, are also displayed within the village during the event.

First contested in 1953, the Giraglia has evolved into one of sailing’s most respected offshore races. What began with 22 boats navigating a course between Cannes, the Giraglia islet, and Sanremo has grown into an international competition attracting hundreds of professional and amateur sailors. Today, more than 200 yachts regularly participate, ranging from classic sailing vessels to some of the world’s largest and most advanced racing yachts.

Despite changes in technology and boat design over the decades, the regatta’s defining route has remained largely unchanged. The passage around the Giraglia rock continues to serve as one of the sport’s most recognizable landmarks, while the combination of coastal races and offshore competition has helped establish the event’s reputation among generations of sailors.

The winners will be honored during a prize-giving ceremony in Genoa on June 20. Alongside the traditional trophies, three Loro Piana Defender jackets will be awarded to the line-honors winner, the overall corrected-time winner of the largest group, and the winner of the combined coastal and offshore competitions.

By continuing its support of the Giraglia, Loro Piana further strengthens its association with sailing culture, reinforcing a relationship that reflects the house’s broader emphasis on craftsmanship, performance, and a lifestyle shaped by both land and sea.
