Louis Vuitton Salone del Mobile 2018

Louis Vuitton has unveiled its Objets Nomades homeware collection at Milan’s Fuori Salone for the sixth year running as part of the Milan Furniture Fair. However this year the house is presenting its first collection of decò objects entitled Louis Vuitton Les Petits Nomades.

The decorative objects home collection was created for the house by some of the world’s most renowned designers, including Humberto & Fernando Campana, Atelier Oï, Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders. Highlights of the collection include the Tropicalist Vase by Humberto & Fernando Campana constructed of 176 two-tone, leather-covered metal “petals”, inspired by South American quesnalia and bromeliad flowers, and Patricia Urquiola’s Overlay Bowl is made of just four cleverly assembled sheets of smooth but hardwearing Louis Vuitton leather.

What impressed The Impression, outside of the meticulous craftsmanship and innovative use of leather, was   those leather petals ceilings. Petal power indeed.
