Spring 2022 Ad Campaign

Review of Moschino Spring 2022 Ad Campaign by Photographer Steven Meisel and Art Director Jason Duzansky with Models Gigi Hadid, Mika Scheider, and Imaan Hammam

Moschino serves up loads of pastel glam in a new Spring 2022 campaign by photographer Steven Meisel and art director Jason Duzansky.

Moschino’s Spring collection is classic Jeremy Scott, with playful, cartoonishly detailed accessories illuminating the vibrant pastels of silhouettes that are at once cheekily girlish yet utterly refined.

The creative director has a distinct knack for pushing cheesiness and camp so far and so perfectly that they come back around to being genuinely great.

Meisel keeps his studio photography restrained and minimal in order to keep the emphasis on the collection’s bombastic head-to-toe looks and each model’s commanding, superstar presence. Big hair and glamorous makeup also go a long way toward expressing the larger-than-life, fantastical character of these pastel-clad stars, making the poise and personality of the images leap off the page.

Delightfully dripping with that classic Moschino style, the campaign is delicately crafted while knowing not to take itself too seriously, and thereby becomes seriously great.
