SCAD to Honor Tory Burch and Lanvin’s Peter Copping

SCADstyle 2025 Honors Key Figures in Contemporary Culture and Fashion

The Savannah College of Art and Design is set to host its annual SCADstyle event from March 31 through April 3, featuring prominent figures in various creative industries. The event will take place at the college’s campuses in Savannah and Atlanta, covering a range of topics from fashion and style to entrepreneurship through master classes and panel discussions.

This year’s SCADstyle will not only focus on fashion and beauty but will also encompass architecture, game design, and other disciplines, reflecting the college’s interdisciplinary approach. Key figures in the fashion industry, including Lanvin’s artistic director Peter Copping and American designer and entrepreneur Tory Burch, will be among the SCAD Étoile Award honorees.

Peter Copping is scheduled to receive the SCAD Étoile Award on April 2 in Savannah. Following the award, he will participate in a Q&A session with fashion journalist Cathy Horyn, discussing Lanvin’s history and current direction. This event coincides with the unveiling of “Jeanne Lanvin: Haute Couture,” the first U.S. exhibition dedicated to the renowned designer, which opens on April 3 at SCAD Fash. “That it coincides with the opening of the Lanvin exhibition at SCAD makes it even more special,” Copping stated.

Tory Burch will receive the SCAD Étoile award on April 3 in Atlanta and will discuss her design philosophy and brand ethos with Stefano Tonchi. Prior to the event, Burch praised SCAD, stating, “SCAD is an extraordinary institution that is shaping the future of every creative industry, from fashion to film and architecture.”

The Savannah program will introduce a new series titled “Next In,” where Refinery29 editors will converse with professionals from fashion, beauty, design, tech, entertainment, and culture. Notable speakers include designer Willy Chavarria and sustainability advocate Eileen Fisher. Additionally, Jiyoon Yoon, lead UI designer for the life simulation game inZoi, will speak about design and gaming on April 1.

SCADstyle will also feature a live recording of the Gloss Angeles beauty podcast with hosts Kirbie Johnson and Sara Tan, who will be joined by Violette Serrat, CEO of Violette_Fr.

Further discussions include a Dezeen design talk with Dominique Petit-Frère and Ben Dreith on driving social change through design on April 2 in Savannah, where Eileen Fisher will also discuss the challenges of creating a sustainable fashion business.

In Atlanta, British Ghanian photographer Campbell Addy will present “Stillness of Elegance” on April 2. The following day, executives from companies such as Puma, Nordstrom, and Tiffany & Co. will explore the use of AI in design, retail, marketing, manufacturing, and the consumer experience.

Additionally, the Paul Egee Waterworks lecture will feature interior designer Lulu Lytle discussing the preservation of craft traditions in contemporary decor manufacturing on April 1 in Savannah.
