Stephen Niedzwiecki and Ruth Bernstein are the founders of Yard NYC, a strategic creative company that helps brands find their purpose and creative spirit. They believe that purposeful brands can drive both cultural relevancy and good business.
Niedzwiecki has created iconic multi-channel fashion campaigns from the “khaki-swing” spots for Gap in the late 90’s, to the alluring John Varvatos campaigns today. His vision for beautiful design, distinctive and emotional storytelling, and spotting emerging talent has built Yard’s success with brands like Converse, Timberland, Tumi, Perry Ellis, American Eagle, JC Penney, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Equinox, and Smartwater among others.
Bernstein blends insight, intuition, and intellect into an uncanny ability to see straight to the heart of each and every brand, often uncovering untapped potential and introducing brands to their true selves. In addition to guiding many global retailers, Ruth has particular experience in socially conscious brands, having led the Sundance portfolio with Robert Redford for many years, stewarded innovation for Method, and led positioning and creative expression for Planet Green, Clif/Luna bar, Gaiam, Shea Moisture, and Kenneth Cole.
