Fall 2024 'Bags' Ad Campaign

Review of The Attico Fall 2024 ‘Bags’ Ad Campaign by Photographer Theo Liu with model Gabbriette Bechtel

The Attico feels the call of the wild in the new campaign for its Fall 2024 handbags. Synthesizing animal energy and angular elegance, the campaign was shot by photographer Theo Liu.

Liu’s imagery is set among a gallery-like modernist home, where the angular intersecting lines of marble steps and steel structural detailing give way through massive windows to the aquatic garden outside. This spatial elegance is effusively contrasted by the explosive energy of model Gabriette Bechtel, as well as the playful plastic sculptures of oversized flora and fauna that appear alongside her: a seal, a frog, a pear, and an ant.

The star handbags, too, balance sculptural poise with the provocative playfulness of their material palette, which includes zebra print, metallic crinkle leather, and shimmery jewel tones. Liu’s photographic perspective is both considered in its color saturation and off-the cuff in its approach to shooting angles, further emphasizing Gabriette’s presence as an irrepressibly audacious muse of modern style.

After bursting onto the forefront of the fashion scene with the runaway success of its hit cargo pants, The Attico has done great work to build on this early attention by introducing new product categories, staging a debut runway show, and building out an engrossing visual identity. As this campaign confirms, the brand has brought its powerful perspective to statement bags as well, and the creative team comes energetically together to embody their bold and eccentric glam.
