Town & Country

Fall 2024 Fashion Trend

Looking ahead towards a fall season of escapism, the idea of the country pursuit was a realistic dream for many designers who referenced the great outdoors or the English countryside through a modern lens.

Nature-inspired palettes of khaki and brown were highlighted with softer tones of pink, peach, and blue. Chunky knits were doubled-up, twisted around the body or fluffed-up to resemble literal sheeps wool at Loewe. Checks will be the most accessible entry-point with this trend, as they came brushed across jackets and coats at Schiaparelli or blanket-style at Rabanne. In bright tweeds at Tommy Hilfiger and in raw-edged herringbone at Erdem. The Carhartt-effect continues to make its presence-felt as the more casual version of this trend updates the barn jacket in longer lengths at Brandon Maxwell. Most innovative though was Rokh’s take on the classic diamond quilted liner jacket, creating a multi-layer through folding the hem giving the style an unexpected break from tradition.
