Reaffirming its commitment to excellence in sport, Loro Piana announces the renewal of the collaboration with Team Europe for the 2023 Ryder Cup, golf’s greatest team contest, to be held from September 25th to October 1st at the “Marco Simone Golf & Country Club” in Rome. With clothes meant to inspire their wearers, the maison will dress the athletes and their entourages for all official events, on and off the course, lending a touch of sophisticated elegance to every part of the event.
Since 2016, when Loro Piana first designed the official uniforms for Team Europe, the Ryder Cup has been a sort of “open-air laboratory”, a unique occasion to test state-of-the-art fabrics in the field under a variety of atmospheric conditions. The aim is to bring the savoir-faire that has been the maison’s hallmark for six generations to sportswear: meticulous design, attention to detail, predilection for natural fibres and excellent craftsmanship add up to a wardrobe that offers innate elegance and extraordinary performance.
The new clothes for Team Europe feature outstanding style, functionality and comfort, introducing a totally new standard of tailoring to the world of golf. In addition, 3D technology was also used for the first time to simulate the clothing’s reaction during the swing, and thus to develop and design performing products that guarantee ease of movement during play. The six looks include Rain System®-treated stretch wool are lightweight and crease-resistant, with a classic fit and tailored details.
Finally, the colours: the uniforms for the three practice days and three days of play are in tones evocative of Italy, the European flag and Loro Piana’s emblematic nuance, kummel, that will be worn on Saturday. Contrasting shades are generally used along the sleeves, shoulders, chest and collars to highlight the athletes’ movements with elegance and style.

A selection of Team Europe uniforms, complete with the Team Europe logo as well as those of the players, and thus collector’s items, will be available only in the maison’s boutique in Rome during the competition days. Golf lovers and others will be able to experience for themselves the refinement, innovation and comfort of this truly elegant sportswear wardrobe, a perfect choice to cut a fine figure on and off the course.
Loro Piana will also support the European Team in the 2023 Junior Ryder Cup, to be held from September 26th to 28th. During the final day, the young talents will wear the same style uniforms as the principal team.
