New Store Marks the Brand’s Eighth California Location as Expansion Continues in the U.S.
Zimmermann has opened a new boutique at The Commons in Calabasas, expanding its retail footprint in California to eight locations. The Australian fashion house continues to grow its U.S. presence with a store designed to reflect the local atmosphere and provide a relaxed, elevated shopping experience.
Located in the Mediterranean-style open-air shopping center, the boutique sits among other high-end retailers and restaurants. “California has always felt like a natural fit for Zimmermann — the sense of optimism, the light, the energy. We’re excited to open in Calabasas and create a beautiful space for our clients to discover our new collections in a relaxed and inspiring setting,” said Nicky Zimmermann, Creative Director and Co-Founder.
The interiors were developed by Studio McQualter, a longtime design collaborator for the brand. The layout makes use of architectural details such as mosaic-tiled thresholds and terrazzo flooring, with natural light streaming into three connected retail rooms. Colored ceilings and a warm palette of materials contribute to a bright, sunlit atmosphere.
Furniture throughout the space includes a reupholstered 1970s sofa, Art Deco armchairs, vintage display cabinetry, and a faux fireplace. A large mirror reflects a Noguchi pendant in the lounge area, and works by Australian artists Stephen Bird and Emily Ferretti add a personal and regional layer to the décor.
Accessory displays and shoe shelves are integrated into the store’s visual rhythm, with the goal of creating a layered but cohesive retail experience.
The new boutique opens with the brand’s Fall Ready-to-Wear 2025 collection and is located at 4783 Commons Way, Suite A, Calabasas, California 91302.
