New York continues to be a hotbed for emerging and diverse young fashion talent, and nowhere is that more apparent than in our Top 10 Standout shows of the season. From Area’s whimsical riffs on couture craft to deconstructions of gender by Luar and Willy Chavarria to brands like Alejandra Alonso Rojas, Maria McManus, and Aknvas showing that they can do luxury tailoring with the best of them, it was another strong glimpse at the future of American fashion.
Ultimately, Bevza took home the top spot with a collection that saw designer Svitlana Bevza’s vision of soulfully elegant minimalism – which still starts each piece from the simple geometry of the square – fully come into its own.
