Trays Reflect Trunkmaking Heritage and French Artistry
Louis Vuitton has unveiled its specially crafted Medals Trays for the Paris 2024 Olympics, evoking the brand’s trunkmaking heritage. Expert artisans at the Beaulieu-sur-Layon workshop in Maine-et-Loire, known for their leather goods craftsmanship, designed the trays. The exterior features the historic Damier canvas, created in 1888, while the interior is lined with matte black leather, inspired by the interiors of Louis Vuitton Torches and Medals Trunks.
Each lightweight tray is designed to hold two to six medals, which will be presented to athletes on the winner’s podium. The medals, designed by jeweler Chaumet, add an extra layer of French craftsmanship to the awards ceremony.
These Medals Trays are part of a prestigious collection of bespoke cases created specifically for the Paris 2024 Games. They exemplify LVMH’s mission, “the Art of Crafting Dreams,” and its role as “the Artisan of All Victories” for the upcoming Olympics.
