The Barbie Star and Producer Is the Latest to Join No. 5’s Lineup of Iconic Ambassadors, with a Campaign to Launch in October
Chanel has officially announced Margot Robbie as the new face of its iconic Chanel No. 5 fragrance, continuing the impressive lineage of women who have represented the brand’s most iconic scent. The Australian actress and producer, who has been an ambassador for Chanel since 2018, will front the upcoming campaign set to launch in October.
Robbie, known for her diverse film roles and for championing women’s voices in her production work, expressed her excitement about the role. “There’s such an impressive lineage of women who’ve been associated with the fragrance over the years. I am very honored to be joining that long list of incredible talents,” she shared in a statement.
Chanel No. 5, which first debuted in 1921, is one of the world’s most enduring and iconic. Created by Ernest Beaux at the request of Gabrielle Chanel, the perfume broke new ground with its layered composition, using aldehydes to enhance its notes of rose, jasmine, citrus, and vanilla. It has become synonymous with timeless femininity and has continued to inspire generations of women.
Chanel celebrated Robbie’s appointment, highlighting her powerful presence both on and off the screen. “Margot Robbie is a woman who has decided to create the conditions for her own accomplishments, always with the desire to tell stories carried by strong female figures in mind,” the fashion house said. “Her career as an actress and producer is impressive, her aura is irresistible, her charisma, both powerful and serene, resonates in every way with the unique character of the iconic N°5.”
Robbie succeeds French actress Marion Cotillard, who served as the face of Chanel No. 5 since 2020. Previous ambassadors include Nicole Kidman and the legendary Marilyn Monroe. Set to release in October, the new campaign, titled “See You at 5,” will also feature actor Jacob Elordi alongside Robbie.
