Review of Zara Fall 2024 Ad Campaign by Photographer Steven Meisel with models Stefano Pilati and Gisele Bündchen
Stefano Pilati and Zara celebrate their inaugural special collaboration with an intimate and instantly classic campaign. Starring Pilati himself alongside iconic model Gisele Bündchen, the campaign was lensed by David Sims.
From work at Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, and Zegna to a recent curatorial collaboration with Fendi and leading his own brand Random Identities, Pilati has taken on many roles and shapes as a designer, always staying true to his authentic vision of elegant individualism. He continues this practice for Zara, bringing quietly clever details to a range of versatile yet distinctive wardrobe anchors.
Sims takes an intimate and elevated approach to lensing Pilati and Bundchën in black-and-white portraits, where the two have an undeniable spark of connection. It’s exciting to see Pilati on a new side of the camera, and he brings out another side of Gisele as well through their interaction.
Zara’s push to carve out a unique space that draws on the aesthetics and impact of luxury while maintaining accessibility continues to become more and more convincing. Bringing together three major names with results that do not at all disappoint, this latest initiative is one of the strongest examples of the success of that direction yet.
