The Top 10 Men’s Campaigns of Fall 2024

The Top 10 Men’s Campaigns of Fall 2024 as chosen by The Impression’s Editorial Team

Menswear campaigns uniquely present both challenge and opportunity. In the first place, they’re fighting something of an uphill battle; while they can demand the same investment, resources, and creative ingenuity as women’s campaigns, menswear still makes up a small fraction of total sales for most brands. At the same time, however, they can serve a broader role than just driving sales: they extend a brand’s creative world. Just as a runway show creates dozens of opportunities to leverage engaging content and drive connection beyond simply showing a collection, so can a menswear campaign drive storytelling and brand equity no matter the gender of its audience.

With this in mind, the best men’s campaigns of Fall 2024 balanced a sober-minded approach to menswear classics with creative expressions that staked out a claim to develop brand identity. Reuniting with Steven Meisel, Dolce & Gabbana reaffirmed the return to sleek and sensuous sophistication it has been making over the past several seasons. Louis Vuitton set out for the American west for another extension of Pharrell Williams’ globe-trotting vision for the house. Dior explored the menswear possibilities behind the ballet flat trend while emphasizing the house’s historic connection to the world of dance.

Saint Laurent revisited one of its most iconic campaigns, the Spring 1999 campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti during the house’s Alber Elbaz era. The campaign drew on iconic Renaissance and Baroque paintings but filled them with an utterly subversive spirit that played with notions of sexuality and gender, an idea that Anthony Vaccarello extended with Glen Luchford’s elegantly composed – yet utterly subversive – compositions inspired by the work of master painters through history like Michelangelo and Caravaggio.
