Self-Portrait and Christopher Kane celebrate their unique collaboration with an even more unique campaign.

In celebration of the inaugural collection of Self-Portrait’s residency program, for which creative director Han Chong invited designer Christopher Kane to reinterpret the brand’s archive, the brand hosted a special event that seamlessly linked into the collection’s campaign. The live shoot took place during an event hosted by the co-creative directors, where guests at the 100 person dinner were fully immersed into the shoot setting. Along with models like Achol Ayor and Colin Jones, insiders from fashion’s old guard like Suzy Menkes and Carine Roitfeld mingled with influencers like Bryanboy.

Photographer Larissa Hoffman was there to document all the action, from models posing on tables to guests sipping champagne and pulling out their phones for their own spontaneous photo shoot. The resulting series of images feels spontaneous, energetic, and celebratory, balancing a documentary approach with the elevated perspective of fashion editorial. The hybrid model feels particularly fitting for a collection that takes a meaningful approach to shared creativity and a celebration of community.

It’s also a smart take on contemporary digital strategy, as the expansive event generated plenty of content for the brand, which it can now release at a steady cadence across its digital channels, transforming the collection announcement and launch from a single event to a multifaceted, long-form project that drives engagement and conversation.
