Jacquemus brings a refined leather finish to Timberland’s classic footwear silhouette in a limited-edition release launching October 15
Timberland and Jacquemus are continuing their creative partnership with a new interpretation of the Authentic Boat Shoe, introducing a crocodile-embossed finish to one of the American footwear brand’s most recognizable silhouettes. Launching October 15, the limited-edition release brings together Timberland’s rugged heritage and Jacquemus’ contemporary design sensibility, offering a more polished take on a longstanding casual classic.

Available in Brown Croc and Navy Croc, the collaboration replaces the shoe’s traditional smooth leather with embossed Premium Timberland leather, borrowing the visual language of luxury leather goods while preserving the silhouette’s practical construction. The textured finish introduces a subtle sense of extravagance to the otherwise familiar design, positioning the boat shoe somewhere between its outdoor origins and a more fashion-conscious wardrobe.
First introduced in 1978, Timberland’s Authentic Boat Shoe has remained a staple of the brand’s footwear offering, its appeal rooted in a balance of durability, comfort, and understated versatility. The Jacquemus iteration retains the original’s rugged rubber outsole, soft leather lining, and padded collar, ensuring that the new material treatment does not come at the expense of the shoe’s established functionality. A tonal Timberland tree logo and custom branded aglets provide understated finishing details that reference both collaborators.
The release builds on an ongoing partnership that has explored the intersection of Timberland’s utilitarian design codes and Jacquemus’ playful approach to proportion, material, and everyday dressing. Where Timberland brings decades of functional footwear expertise, Jacquemus introduces a sensitivity to texture and refinement, demonstrating how relatively restrained design interventions can shift the character of a familiar silhouette.

The timing also reflects the boat shoe’s continued relevance within contemporary fashion, where traditional wardrobe staples are increasingly reinterpreted through unexpected materials and elevated finishes. Rather than radically altering the original design, the collaboration relies on the contrast between a practical silhouette and a material typically associated with luxury accessories. It is a relatively simple proposition, but one that gives the enduring style a distinct new identity.
The Timberland x Jacquemus Croc-Embossed Authentic Boat Shoe launches October 15 at 5 PM CET, available through both brands’ websites, select stores, and wholesale partners worldwide. The suggested retail price is $320 or €320.
