BFC Names Its 2024 NEW WAVE: Creatives

The 50 Young Talents Will Be Honored at The Fashion Awards 2024

The British Fashion Council has revealed its 2024 NEW WAVE: Creatives, a list of 50 young talents who are shaping the future of fashion across various disciplines. The list includes casting directors, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and other creatives playing pivotal roles behind the scenes. These 50 individuals will be honored at The Fashion Awards 2024, presented by Pandora, on December 2nd at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The Fashion Awards, organized by the BFC, serve as a major fundraiser for the BFC Foundation and highlight the intersection of fashion, culture, and entertainment. The event celebrates creative excellence and spotlights key stories of the year in fashion.

Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the BFC, remarked, “NEW WAVE: Creatives is an invaluable platform for recognizing and celebrating the diverse talents shaping the future of fashion, the community beyond the designers and creative directors. These emerging artists, often working behind the scenes, are redefining creativity across multiple disciplines and transforming the way fashion is experienced globally.”

The NEW WAVE: Creatives list provides a resource for the global fashion industry, helping to curate creative teams for various projects. Additionally, the BFC continues to engage alumni from past years for events and initiatives, such as commissioning them to design trophies or photograph key moments.

Voting for the 2024 recipients began in July, with previous year’s NEW WAVE: Creatives having a direct influence on this year’s selection. The final group was chosen by an influential panel of fashion experts, including renowned figures such as Ib Kamara, Creative Director of Off-White, and photographer Nick Knight.

Past recipients of this honor include prominent figures like photographer Campbell Addy, makeup artist Celia Burton, and fashion writer Liv Little, underscoring the program’s role in highlighting a diverse array of global talent.

The BFC’s NEW WAVE: Creatives continues to emphasize London’s position as a key hub of creativity and supports these artists through year-round social media campaigns and other initiatives aimed at promoting their work.
