Chanel opens a new ephemeral boutique in the renowned mountain retreat of Aspen, Colorado. Located in the ski hamlet at the base of the Elk Mountains, the 1,960-square foot boutique presents a collection of Ready-to-Wear, shoes, handbags and costume jewelry, along with Watches and Fine Jewelry and a selection of Fragrance and Beauty.
Set amidst the snow-topped chalets in picturesque Aspen, the design of the boutique celebrates the heritage and allure of CHANEL. Upon entering, guests are met by a series of boldly mirrored columns, which contour the room. Inspired by the famous mirrored staircase that connects the first-floor salon at 31 rue Cambon to Mademoiselle Chanel’s legendary apartment, the reflection extends space and light and makes the selection of fashion and novelties within the boutique seem infinite. Interior walls covered in soft white wool, highlight the intimacy of the boutique and evoke the snow-capped mountains outside. Furnishings in a tonal color palette of white and beige, with accents of black, echo the signature color palette of the House. A single, continuous carpet spelling out the CHANEL logo in graphic white lettering boldly spans the length of the floor, drawing clients in to explore the entire space.
Within the charming and intimate boutique setting, visitors are invited to discover two alluring runway collections, as well as accessories perfect for a Colorado winter such as skis, ear muffs, hats, scarves and gloves.
Elegant mountain dwellers seize the spirit of romantic dandies as they walk through the powdery snow in the Fall-Winter 2019/20 collection presented last March in Paris. Silhouettes are warmed by a wardrobe marked with masculine/feminine accents, a major stamp of the CHANEL style.
The Cruise 2019/2020 collection, Virginie Viard’s first solo Ready-to-Wear collection for the House, is also featured prominently. Inspired by the spirit of the journey and of a travel story untouched by time, the collection is the perfect accompaniment to the vacation wardrobe. Ready-to-Wear embodies a silhouette in motion, both strong and bursting with subtle delicateness.
An array of the essential new CHANEL 19 handbag line the walls. Named for the year in which the bag was born, 2019, marking a new era and a new icon, the CHANEL 19 bag bears the essence of the House and its codes.
Within a specially designed jewelry box, guests can discover the J12 watch and a selection of rings from the Ultra Fine Jewelry collection in brilliant black and white ceramic.
The CHANEL Aspen boutique will be open until January 21, 2020.
