The Designer Passes at Age of 39

Khalid Al Qasimi, Founder and Creative Director of QASIMI, unexpectedly passed away on July 1st, 2019. He was 39. Al Qasimi was the son of His Highness, Sheik Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of the United Arab Emirates. Khalid Al Qasimi was heir to one of the seven emirates. 

Al Qasimi, who was the last surviving son of his father, was raised in the United Kingdom. He received degrees in Architecture and Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins. Al Qasimi debuted his first collection in 2008. He has found success both at the London Fashion Week Men’s and the Paris Fashion Week Men’s. Al Qasimi showed his spring/summer 2020 collection just three weeks ago at London fashion week.

Al Qasimi is remembered and praised for being a man who was sensitive of social-political issues, especially those pertaining to the Middle East and its relationship to the West. His goal was to create ‘a world of beautifully crafted products infused with cultural, social and political undertones to inform and inspire.’

His close friends and family ask for the privacy of his family, team and brand to be respected. He is survived by four sisters.
