According to sources in Milan, Dsquared2 and Ennio Fontana, who took the helm as general manager of the Italian fashion brand in March last year, have decided to part ways.

Fontana’s appointment came after the departure of Sergio Azzolari, who moved on to assume the role of chief executive officer at Roberto Cavalli.

Fontana’s transition mirrored Azzolari’s, as Fontana had previously served as the general manager of Roberto Cavalli, while Azzolari held the CEO position at Dsquared2.

At Dsquared2, Fontana was entrusted by the brand’s founders, Dean and Dan Caten, with the responsibility of fortifying the brand’s international business development and implementing expansion strategies aimed at solidifying its market positioning. Before his tenure at Roberto Cavalli, Fontana held a similar role at Philipp Plein, where he collaborated extensively with the brand’s eponymous founder and creative director.
