Emporio Armani uncovers the theatricality and drama of everyday city life with its new Fall 2023 Men’s campaign, shot by photographer Gregory Harris.
Captured against the iconic urban landscape of New York City, Harris’ imagery conjures up a nostalgic and theatrical feel thanks to its grainy black-and-white aesthetic and the way his compositions toe the line between feeling staged and spontaneous. This latter feeling is pushed by the casting of actors Nicola Maupas and William Franklyn-Miller, as well as props like the giant old-timey megaphone that appears in one image, seemingly locating us right in the middle of shooting one of the bygone musical cinema spectacles of yore.
That balance of vintage and contemporary energies fits perfectly with the collection and styling’s balance of classic menswear elegance with subtly modern street-minded updates.
