Tennis and Padel Champs Join as Golden Goose’s First Women Brand Ambassadors
Golden Goose is strengthening its connection to sports by welcoming four new athlete ambassadors into its fold, including its first women ambassadors. Tennis star Jasmine Paolini and padel champion Marta Ortega are amongst the latest additions to the brand’s roster of ambassadors, joined by tennis athlete Zizou Bergs and padel sportsman Juan Lebrón.
Golden Goose CEO Silvio Campara expressed his excitement at these new collaborations, citing that the athletes perfectly embody the brand’s values. “Jasmine, Zizou, Marta and Juan embody everything we stand for and the communities we want to connect with. Family, passion, authenticity, positivity and success are values at the heart of sports and of Golden Goose. We are honored to welcome these talented athletes to our family, where dreams are pursued with purpose, and every step reflects dedication and excellence,” Campara said.
Paolini, the Italian Polish tennis star, who has made significant achievements in her sports career, such as landing a spot in the finals at the French Open and Wimbledon tournaments, displayed honor toward representing the renowned Italian brand. She said that “as an Italian athlete, it’s an honor to represent Golden Goose, a brand I’ve long admired. Being part of this family feels incredible, and I’m proud to share the values of such an iconic Italian brand.”
Belgian tennis player Bergs, also new to the Golden Goose ambassador team, is known for his sports accomplishments, charity endeavors, and advocacy efforts targeted at young tennis players in Burundi, disabled athletes, underprivileged youth in Antwerp, and marginalized students. Upon joining the brand, Bergs stated, “I am honored to join Golden Goose in their mission to not only elevate racket sports but also to make a meaningful impact within communities.”
New ambassadors, Ortega and Lebrón, are two of Spain’s highest-ranked padel athletes. Expressed excitement over being a part of Golden Goose, Ortega said, “Partnering with a brand that has such a strong connection to padel is truly meaningful to me. I look forward to building something special together through this collaboration. Golden Goose is now set to open a branded padel pavilion in Milan this year.” Concurring with his fellow athlete, Lebrón stated, “I’m truly honored by this partnership. We’ve already done incredible things together, and I look forward to what’s next, especially with the upcoming opening of the Padel Pavilion.”
As new members of the Golden Goose team, the athletes join the likes of skater Keegan Palmer, Olympic bronze medalist and leader of the U.S. National Team Cory Juneau, padel ace Arturo Coello and Chinese actor and singer Jackson Yee. Established in 2000, Golden Goose is well-regarded for its Superstar sneakers and distressed styles. In 2020, the private equity fund Permira acquired the company.
Last year, the firm, which initially revealed plans to go public, postponed its IPO due to European market volatility. The company, based in Marghera, Italy, continues its commitment to engage with communities, as demonstrated by its hosting of all-encompassing cultural events ‘Haus of Dreamers’ in cities like Paris and Los Angeles.
