Louis Vuitton Unveils Watch Prize Committee

The Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives Awards an Innovative Watchmaker

Louis Vuitton has announced the members of the Expert Committee for the second edition of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives.

Initiated in 2022, the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize reflects the brand’s commitment to boldness, craftsmanship, creativity, technical excellence, and innovation. This competition, part of the broader LVMH group’s effort to recognize and promote outstanding talent, is facilitated by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton.

Jean Arnault, Director of the Louis Vuitton Watchmaking Division, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming competition, stating, “Building on the success of the first edition of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize in February 2024, we look forward to seeing how independent watchmakers will explore new horizons of creativity to redefine the contours of our industry.”

The 2025 Committee includes a diverse group of watch enthusiasts globally—comprising artisans, industry insiders, journalists, collectors, artists, and creators—who all share a deep appreciation for watchmaking.

The selection process begins with an independent, international panel of experts who will shortlist twenty semi-finalists. The Expert Committee will then review these entries to choose five finalists, assessing them on design, aesthetics, creativity, technical innovation, complexity, and the quality of details and finishes.

Additionally, the Committee members will select five of their peers to form the final jury. This jury will interview the finalists and select the winner during the award ceremony to be held in Paris in 2026.

The winner of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize will receive a €150,000 prize and a year of customized mentoring at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, gaining access to expertise in communication, legal, marketing, industrial strategy, and financial management.

Applications for this prestigious award will be accepted until April 15, 2025.
