Review of Michael Kors x Ellesse Winter 2022 Ad Campaign with Photographer Daniel Clavero with models Emily Ratajkowski & David Agbodji
Michael Kors and Elesse reunite and churn some powder with the new campaign for their latest collaborative capsule.
The collection follows up the brand’s first collaborative capsule which debuted in late summer, swapping tennis-court style for vintage inspired winter wear that’s ready to take on the slopes. While the campaign does draw some alpine energy from the visual rhythm of the designs and the wintry mountain backdrops, the campaign does suffer a bit from the same problem as the previous outing, namely that it feels more like a themed lookbook rather than a meaningful look at the sport, culture, and stories that inspired it.
Still, the presence of megastar model Emily Ratajkowski may be enough to save it from media mediocrity. It’s also another example of Michael Kors making a newly energetic push into interesting collaborative and youth-culture-relevant creative territory.
