The rise of the resale market – which is set to be worth over 40 billion U.S. dollars this year alone – has inspired a more thrown-together thrifted aesthetic on the streets. A refreshing fight back against the fervently sponsored ‘straight-from-the runway’ looks that have become a signature of the scene, giving each city a repetitive undertone. Attendees played with a mix of high-low styling and paired handcrafted knitwear with vintage tea dresses, hand-me-down furs and patchwork (albeit a Sportmax designed version) housecoats. This is another indication of true personal style starting to make a return, with upcycled looks that are pre-loved and personal.
