Vuarnet opens new doors in Paris

Vuarnet Announces the Opening Of Its New Paris Flagship news

Vuarnet has reimagined its Paris flagship, and is proud to announce its opening. Vuarnet Boutique is located in the very heart of Paris, at 28 rue Boissy d’Anglas, where the brand was founded in 1957 and has been located ever since.

My vision for the store was based in the cosy interior of a mountain lodge or wood cabin, so that the customer could have the feeling of escaping from the city. I also love the dramatic geology and natural textures of the mountains.”

– Boramy Viguier, Creative Director at Vuarnet

In response to Vuarnet’s origins within ski apparel, Vuarnet created a scheme that references alpine landscapes and the comfort and nostalgia of the après ski experience. Handcrafted in France and known for their innovative design, the sunglasses are displayed on backlit glass shelves fitted into a dark timber display wall that runs the length of the store. The product is also displayed on two large stone tables with expressive forms and raw edgesreferencing mountain terrain. Along with the tables, custom display units were designed to present the sunglasses. Tech mountain apparel and luxury garments hang on adjacent stainless steel rails finished with a debossed Vuarnet logo which is repeated on a bespoke hook designed for the fitting room. Vintage furniture pieces selected for the store’s lounge area are a nod to founder Jean Vuarnet’s renowned personal style. An open workshop where customers can have their sunglasses adjusted and repaired connects to Vuarnet’s core values of craft and service.

Our aim for the Paris flagship was to create a space that would tell Vuarnet’s story and engage its community, while highlighting the uniqueproducts. We were thrilled to work closely with the brand and Boramy to present its strong identity through a modern lens.”
