Top Best 10 Women’s Fashion Ad Campaigns of Spring 2022 Season as chosen by Kenneth Richard
Though it seems redundant to say that the best ad campaigns are those with the best art direction, the top women’s campaigns of Spring 2022 felt especially characterized by luxuriously simple yet deftly focused sense of artistic vision.
Many of these campaigns – Prada, Celine, Miu Miu, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent – take shape as simple studio portraiture, but deftly deployed art direction makes subtle use of camera, color, and text to stamp each image as distinctly the brand’s own. This is particularly true of Fabien Baron’s work for Prada, with each season featuring intellectual sloganeering that develops on the last.
On the other side of the spectrum, Dior, Del Core, and Zara Studio shared campaigns that felt like symbolically rich visual feasts. From Del Core’s psychedelic fungal wonderland to Dior’s geometric and futuristic pop-art discotopia (another Baron outing), the immersive imagery excellently expanded the creative world of the clothing.
